Scholarship details

The RMHC/HACER program offers four $100,000 national scholarships each year, as well as other local scholarships.

RMHC/HACER National Scholarships

Each year the program awards four (4) $100,000 RMHC/HACER National Scholarships. The award is paid over 4 years ($25,000 per year), provided the student can verify enrollment at any accredited institution providing post-secondary education each year.

RMHC/HACER Local Scholarships

Local scholarships are generally a minimum of $1,000, although some local programs may award different scholarship amounts.

Note: It is only necessary to fill out one application to participate in the RMHC/HACER program. Students can only receive one (1) RMHC/HACER scholarship. If an applicant is awarded a national scholarship, then they will no longer be eligible for a local scholarship.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:

  • Academic achievement.

  • Financial need.

  • Community involvement.

  • Personal qualities and strengths as portrayed in a personal statement.

Recipients must enroll in and attend an accredited institution in the academic year after their selection and provide verification of enrollment. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the schools, and no funds will be dispersed to students directly.
